  2. Hmm, for me... it was kinda like fermented soy beans... ever had those? no good! Many Japanese people love natto- but just the same amount hate it... :(

  3. Ok- my bad, I meant to say it tastes like fermented soy bean curd- which I had once at a sushi place... I don't know if I could describe the exact taste.. its just not good.

  5. I have tried vegemite before... and I definitely didn't like it either.. but I'll have to ask the 2 Aussies who tried it what they think... I'm guessing not the same- since I think Ben- the first who tried it, likes vegemite... ewww!

  9. ZOMG Morgan, that was hilarious watching you all try natto -- one bean at a time!

Yes Aunt Glo, it's supposed to be VERY healthy. (Maybe that's why I love it so much?) OK, I prolly had an advantage in that my first time was having it expertly prepared at a killer sushi place in LA (the famous "Sushi Nazi")!

It's awesome with seaweed, chopped green onion, bonito flakes, raw egg (warmed/cooked on the rice), and especially fixed with much "snottier", super-slimy mountain potato/yam -- yum, I'm dying' for breakfast now!

Lots of info on the web, but here's a great link (incl. "how to eat"):

As Worf on ST:TNG would prolly say: "A warrior's food!" (To go with the warrior's drink, aka prune juice ;-) Unfortunately, I ain't in no warrior town right now, and I'm not going to drive 40+ miles for breakfast :-(
